THE POSITION
Are you a skilled automotive mechanic who is ready to teach others the trade The State Correctional Institution (SCI) Camp Hill is seeking an energetic hands-on self-motivated person with the required experience to work as a Corrections Automotive Mechanic Trade Instructor. DESCRIPTION OF WORK
As an Automotive Mechanic Trade Instructor for the Department of Corrections you will maintain an inmate work crew for the purpose of instructing coaching and educating the inmate in the field of automotive mechanics. This position provides classroom and on the job training in the standard practices methods and procedures of the automotive mechanic trade. You will be responsible for instructing inmates on the proper methods of repair and maintenance of motorized vehicles and the rebuilding and replacing components of equipment such as cars trucks farm equipment and small engine repairs. Maintaining order and discipline of inmates during work assignments is essential. Work includes assigning daily inmate schedules inspecting completed work assignments documenting worker attendance and completing performance evaluations and payroll records. You will have the opportunity to provide orientation and safety training to inmates.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:
- Full-time employment 40 hours per week
- Work hours are 7:30 AM to 3:30 PM Monday - Friday.
- Telework:You will not have the option to telework in this position.
- Salary:Selected candidates who are new to employment within the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania will begin employment at the starting annual salary of $50846 (before taxes).

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY
QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:
- Four years of experience in the diagnosis maintenance repair and replacement of various components and systems used in automobiles trucks or construction or heavy equipment; or
- Completion of an approved apprenticeship in the automotive mechanic trade; or
- An equivalent combination of experience and training which includes one year of journey level work in the automotive mechanic trade.
Special Requirements:
- This position requires possession of an active Motor Vehicle Air Conditioning Technician Certificate issued by an approved provider.
- This position requires possession of an active motor vehicle license which is not under suspension.
Other Requirements:
- Successful completion of basic training in Elizabethtown PA is required.

- You must be able to perform essential job functions.
