The Boeing CompanyBoeing Commercial Airplanes is seeking a Associate or Mid-Level Mechanical Systems Design & Analysis Engineer to join our 787 Mechanical Systems Design Engineering team in North Charleston South Carolina.
The Mechanical Systems Design & Analysis Engineer will support the development and documentation of mechanical fluid and environmental control system components/assemblies for the 787 Program. This role will support Install & Integration of our 787 Customer Intro and/or 787 Sustaining SOW.
Position Responsibilities:
Developing and maintaining mechanical systems detail product detail assembly and installation designs (e.g. composite ducting hydraulic tubing transport element routing and geometry).
Assisting with engineering design disposition on discrepancies (e.g. rejection tags production action requests and shop revision requests).
Follow documented processes specifications and procedures that support the design and manufacture of mechanical fluid and environmental control system commodities.
Collecting data to support the development of statements of work.
Reviewing functional and physical input used in the development of integrated design and system architecture.
Assist in preparing technical documents for mechanical components and systems.
Supporting the development maintenance or modification of system designs/proposals to provide design documentation and high-level requirements to downstream users/customers.
Perform spatial integration at system or component level.
Assist in supporting proposal preparation and new business development efforts.
Works under general supervision.
Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):
Bachelors Masters or Doctorate of Science degree from an accredited course of study in engineering i.e. Mechanical Civil Aerospace engineering.
2 or more years of professional experience working in an engineering field
2 or more years of experience with Computer Aided Design (CAD) tools
Ability to travel domestically and internationally
1 or more years of experience working with cross-functional teams
Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):
5 or more years related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience
3 years of experience in aerospace related role
5 years of experience working in CATIA V5 & ENOVIA toolsets
5 years of experience reading and interpreting engineering drawings procedures and specifications
5 years of experience in a mechanical system hydraulic fluid system and/or environmental controls systems engineering roles
2 years of demonstrated project management skills
