Were looking for a motivated and ambitious Assistant Project Manager minimum 2 years of major infrastructure experience to support one of the largest and most complex infrastructure programmes the UK water sector has seen in decades.

The Reservoirs Programme focuses on two new large-scale raw water reservoirs the Fens Reservoir and the Lincs Reservoir along with all the associated infrastructure. Serving the East of England and East Midlands this is the largest and most complex programme of work ever undertaken by Anglian Water securing sustainable water supplies for generations to come.
This nationally significant programme involves securing planning approval for each scheme via the Development Consent Order (DCO) process as well as developing the procurement and delivery strategy for future licenced Infrastructure Providers (IPs) who will ultimately design build finance and operate the reservoir systems.
As an Assistant Project Manager youll work with the Project Manager across all stages of the project lifecycle ensuring safe efficient and high-quality delivery against schedule and budget. Youll also manage key work packages yourself (up to 5m) gaining hands-on experience and visibility on a truly career-defining programme.

What youll be doing:
Project Management
Support the development of a major reservoir project by assisting with cost control scheduling risk management reporting and process improvement. Youll help keep the programme on track across all phases of the project
Stakeholder Management
Work closely with internal and external stakeholders ensuring alignment with engagement strategies. Youll contribute to communications reporting and coordination across departments and Water Partnerships.
Regulatory Compliance
Assist in meeting regulatory requirements including RAPID and DWI/EA consultations. Help prepare key documentation and support engagement efforts to secure stakeholder confidence in project solutions.
Governance
Support governance processes helping to prepare reports track approvals and assist with board-level updates and change control. Youll play a key role in maintaining compliance with Anglian Waters project and contract management standards.
What does it take to be an Assistant Project Manager
Background in infrastructure development
Experience in the water sector (desirable)
APM-PFQ or equivalent
Familiarity with health & safety standards
Strong project management and organisational skills
Clear and confident communicator able to build relationships and influence
Proactive self-motivated and able to work independently
Valid driving licence
