Job Description:

Job Summary

The Officer Personnel Department (OPD) strives for excellence in maintaining its databases and systems ensuring that the information provided for ministry leadership and officer support is accurate current and reliable. As a result the Officer Resources and Information Systems Coordinator has a significant influence toward strengthening those objectives by providing support to the OPD in processes related to files database systems and records. The coordinator will be privy to sensitive officer information that related to their leadership appointments and families. As a result the Officer Resources and Information Systems Coordinator will need to understand the responsibility of maintaining confidentiality in perpetuity.

Key Accountabilities

  • Save and organize officer documents in digital files adhering to filing standards; support special projects related to officer systems.
  • Ensure personnel decisions are accurately reflected in OMS/IPS; audit and verify data integrity and update officer records independently.
  • Process changes in officer status (active/retired/cadets) and compile annual statistics for international reporting.
  • Respond to officer inquiries via HR Service Centre escalate complex issues appropriately and participate in committees as needed.
  • Handle all payroll-related transactions in Workday ensuring compliance accuracy and timely processing.
  • Manage compensation updates including disability leave housing allowances and one-time payments; communicate changes to relevant departments.
  • Collaborate with the International Personnel Liaison Officer on payroll and compensation matters for international officers.
  • Assist with annual and mid-year appointment changes in OMS and Workday including move logistics with Canada Moving.
  • Oversee CRD processes determine eligibility distribute tax forms (T1223) and respond to related inquiries.
  • Manage officer childrens scholarship payments update eligibility in Workday and terminate grants as needed.

Education and Experience Qualifications

  • Community college certificate or post-secondary education in Human Resources Business Administration or related field
  • Minimum of 2 years HR generalist/operations experience and knowledge of current minimum requirements policies and practices.
  • Knowledge and experience in data management HR analytics and reporting.
  • Knowledge and experience working with HR systems time and attendance systems and other online processing tools in support of data collection and analysis Workday or Oracle systems experience an asset.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel. Knowledge of other Microsoft Suite applications.
  • Experience with HCM/HRIS systems knowledge of Workday is an asset.
  • Understanding of and work with Salvation Army organizational structure and policies is an asset.
  • Detail-oriented organized able to manage multiple priorities commitment to meet deadlines
  • Analytical/problem solving ability to learn quickly and take on new challenges
  • Strong ability to build relationships and collaborate across teams
  • Strong sense of integrity and confidentiality with professional ethics and a balanced sense of fairness and flexibility
  • Excellent interpersonal skills at all levels of the organizations
  • This position may require light lifting of file boxes and carrying them short distances. Boxes generally weigh less than 20 pounds (9 kilograms)

Compensation:

The target hiring range for this position is $55693.49 to $69616.86 with a maximum of $83540.23.

Placement in the salary range will be based on factors such as market conditions internal equity and candidate experience skills and qualifications relevant to the role.
