The Global Access Strategy and Pricing (GASP) Senior Director role directly impacts the ability to achieve business objectives by providing strategic guidance on access pricing optimal reimbursement launch sequencing patient value and evidence generation for PDL1V globally in preparation for launch and consideration for long term value given subsequent indications. In collaboration with the asset development team. The Senior Director will formulate market access and pricing strategies including BPP and conduct/oversee generation and synthesis of global payer insights recommendations for clinical trial design for subsequent indications and oversee the development of financial models to evaluate the impact of lifecycle indications and combinations within the Lung cancer portfolio.
The GASP Senior Director will also assume the role of Tivdak Access Lead providing strategic guidance on access in the US and in ex-US workstreams with the alliance partner Genmab.
Working in a closely aligned manner with the other Global Access and Value (GAV) colleagues (USMA HV&E) this position will function with a One GAV mindset. This role will lead the advancement of an integrated value and access strategy in partnership with the cross-functional team that is aligned to the brand strategy and optimizes the long-term value of PDL1V within the context of the lung cancer franchise. The position reports to the GASP Lung Cancer Team Lead within GAV.
PDL1V ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES
- Independently lead generation of payer insights and translation into clear and cohesive integrated value and access pricing and evidence generation strategies for key markets to support PDL1V and lung cancer
- Provide subject matter expertise and drive critical strategic discussions at Senior Leadership forums
- Lead Global cross-functional access matrix team (AMT) and local preparation of PDL1V EU JCA readiness in close partnership with HV&E
- Oversee market access and pricing strategy development and implementation to support brand strategies within the context of the lung cancer portfolio franchise and product positioning
- Influence and shape thoracic cancer lifecycle management leveraging expertise in access and price optimizing strategies
- Deliver clear recommendations relating to payer strategy pricing and reimbursement evidence generation data collection and value proposition
- Achieving the above will variously require the formation of leadership and/or participation in virtual cross-functional teams including representing GAV at the GPT and commercialization meetings. When necessary convene and coordinate taskforces related to specific asset threats and opportunities
Generate & synthesize payer insights
- Maintain in-depth understanding of payer regulations needs of all types of payers (e.g. HTA agencies institutions and patients) in key Pfizer markets
- Leverage knowledgeable of oncology access & pricing landscape in US ICO Markets Japan China HTA/Payer requirements and EU JCA to generate actionable insights
- Lead assessment and communication of external access trends to anticipate potential challenges and opportunities for PDL1V
- Gather and synthesize feedback for development programs with health technology assessment agencies payers and relevant patient associations
Develop payer value proposition and drive market access strategy
- Develop clear and cohesive access pricing and evidence generation strategy to optimize value of PDL1V through the Access Matrix Team (AMT)
- Lead discussions with Country Health & Value and Payer Channel Access Leads at critical junctures to ensure local insights are integrated into global plans that optimize long-term value for PDL1V within the context of the Lung cancer franchise. Working directly with affiliates include local input into clinical development plans market access and pricing strategies and recommendations early HTA advice early economic models and evidence generation plans develop the Brand Pricing Policy (BPP) and to co-create the Integrated Value & Access Strategy (IVAS)
- Lead alignment efforts with Commercial SCI Clinical Medical Asset teams and the Alliance to ensure clinical trial design and commercial strategies reflect payer insights and align with Bold Moves in order to maximize value of PDL1V
- Lead discussions and seek early buy-in from senior leadership on price and market access strategy and recommendations to support key business decision points
- Drive development of the value proposition and value-based agreement strategy and seek buy-in from cross-functional stakeholders
- Develop launch deliverables and training including Global and US Pricing & Market Access Strategy Launch Readiness Mock Negotiations
- Partner with HV&E to influence clinical trial design recommendations (e.g. endpoints comparators PROs) development of early economic model and generation of supplemental evidence (e.g. comparative-effectiveness studies leveraging real-world evidence) to strengthen our value proposition and pricing/access opportunity
Advance functional excellence in Global Market Access
- Build and maintain relationships with cross-functional teams including HV&E GASP PipelineClinical Development Medical Commercial BD SCI and others to drive payer perspective and optimize reimbursement per critical business needs globally for lung cancer
- Work efficiently and collaboratively in a highly matrixed environment
- Develop expertise in US Germany France China and Japan markets and launch requirements
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
Candidate demonstrates a breadth of diverse leadership experiences and capabilities including: the ability to influence and collaborate with peers develop and coach others oversee and guide the work of other colleagues to achieve meaningful outcomes and create business impact.
- Bachelors degree minimum required.
- 12 years of experience required with Bachelors; 10 years of experience required with Masters / MBA; 7 years of experience required with PharmD / PhD preferably in pharmaceutical industry or related consulting services sufficient to have developed a deep understanding of the global and US payer and market access environment.
- Deep experience in developing and executing pricing & market access strategies and deliverables for US and key ex-US markets such as Germany France Italy Spain UK China and Japan.
- Excellent oral and written English communication skills required
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Advanced degree in a healthcare business or economic field preferred (PhD PharmD MS MBA MPH ...)
- Experience working in thoracic cancer agents globally and knowledge of HTA and Payer requirement is desirable. US IDM China country level HTA and negotiation experience is desirable
- Strong knowledge and understanding of the drug development process
- Pharmaceutical business leadership including experience in strategy development and interaction with customers.
- Strong project management abilities (contracting budgeting vendor management) essential
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects involving complex processes significant budget competing deadlines and rapidly shifting priorities
- Excellent interpersonal skills required; ability to understand and respond to multiple internal and external customers and influence in a matrix environment
- Skilled in functioning within a matrix organization where managing through influence is required and experience of managing people in a cross-cultural environment

The annual base salary for this position ranges from $204700.00 to $341100.00.
