Whats your day like

As the Facilities and Safety Manager at Child Advocates of Blair County youll be at the helm of ensuring that our agency-owned facilities are safe well-maintained and compliant with all Head Start Performance Standards and relevant regulations. Youll oversee transportation logistics and safety operations across our Head Start locations making sure that every physical environment meets Head Start regulations and related local state and federal requirements. With the responsibility of managing a team of 17 dedicated employees youll play a pivotal role in ensuring the highest standards of safety and conduct while also handling procurement processes including inventory management and RFPs. Your leadership will be essential in overseeing fleet maintenance and repairs of all agency sites contributing to a safe atmosphere for the children and families we serve. Requirements for this Facilities and Safety Manager job

To excel as the Facilities and Safety Manager at Child Advocates of Blair County a blend of education and experience is essential. A four-year college degree in a related field is preferred along with a minimum of 2-4 years of hands-on experience in facilities transportation or safety management ideally within an educational setting. A strong understanding of OSHA ADA compliance fire safety and local building codes is crucial for ensuring the safety and well-being of our children.

The candidate must possess or be willing to obtain a CDL with S and P endorsements within two years of hire. Exceptional communication organization and project management skills will be necessary for managing priorities and coordinating across multiple sites. Strong leadership and customer service aptitude will help foster a supportive environment for your team while robust computer skills will aid in using various software and tools essential for effective facilities and operations management.

Knowledge and skills required for the position are:

  • A 4-year college degree in a related field of study preferred
  • Minimum 2-4 years experience in facilities transportation or safety management; experience in an educational setting preferred
  • Strong understanding of OSHA ADA fire safety PENNDOT and local building codes
  • Must have or obtain a CDL with S and P endorsements within 2 years of hire
