Sentara Health Employee Assistance Program is seeking to hire a qualified individual to join our team as an Insurance Verification Representative.
Position Status: Full-time Day Shift
Position Location: 1-2 days on-site in Newport News 3-4 days a week remote.
Standard Working Hours: 8:30AM to 5:00PM
Overview
Performs insurance verification for all scheduled patient services and obtains required precertification in a multi-disciplinary environment.
High-volume EAP call center environment handling inbound calls and providing frontline support.
Responsible for gathering client information triaging cases and coordinating appropriate counseling services.
Perform client check-ins while in an office while simultaneously managing call center duties.
Strong background in scheduling customer service and administrative support.
Proven ability to deliver compassionate and efficient service in fast-paced environments.
Education
High school diploma or equivalent
Certification/Licensure
No specific certification or licensure requirements
Experience
Two of the four skill levels required: 1. One year experience in healthcare environment or 2. Completion of healthcare related certificate program 3. One year experience with medical insurance in a hospital or physician office or 4. Transferable skills (i.e. 1 year or more in a call center customer services etc.)
Call center experience is highly preferred
