About the role
Lead Evidence-Based Interventions: Develop deliver and evaluate effective tobacco and vaping cessation strategies including educational materials group behaviour therapy and personalised advice for patients and staff.
Educate and Empower: Provide ongoing training and tailored education sessions for SVHS staff supporting their knowledge of nicotine replacement therapies (NRT) and smoking/vaping cessation best practices aligned with NSW Ministry of Health policies.
Drive Service Excellence: Collect and monitor key data to evaluate program impact improve service delivery and ensure compliance with smoke-free health care policies and procedures.
Be a Clinical Resource: Stay ahead of the latest evidence and maintain close collaboration with SVHS cessation trainers to ensure care is consistent high-quality and aligned with national standards.
Support Strategic Programs: Play an active role in SVHS-wide cessation initiatives including staff NRT programs outpatient support andadhere to theimplementation of the NSW Smoke-Free Health Care Policy.
About you
Experienced in Evidence-Based Cessation: You bring proven knowledge and skills in tobacco and nicotine vaping cessation backed by real-world clinical experience.
Qualified and Professional: You hold relevant tertiary qualifications in health counselling psychology nursing or a related field with eligibility for membership in a professional association.
Skilled in Client Support: You have strong clinical expertise in assessment and brief interventions especially working with clients facing drug and alcohol challenges.
Tech-Savvy Communicator: Youre confident using Microsoft Office and electronic patient record systems with excellent written verbal and interpersonal communication skills.
Lead by Example: You maintain a current non-smoker and non-vaper status embodying the health values you promote
