Our B2B team is at the forefront of enabling global companies to unlock language skills across their workforces. As our B2B offering continues to grow were looking for a Junior Data Analyst - Insights to join our team and support our data driven decision-making.
Youll be part of the Data chapter and embedded in the B2B squad working alongside a senior data scientist analytical engineer and analytics manager. The role is ideal for someone who already has an analytical foundation and is eager to learn grow and make an impact in a dynamic and varied business environment.
We have an outstanding data science organization: we work throughout the company - in the product business and platform teams - using analysis experimentation data visualisation and machine learning techniques. We are uniquely placed to use data to help make better decisions and improve data literacy across Preply.
What youll be doing:
- Discover insights and inform the B2B team by running queries and extracting data using SQL and spreadsheets
- Help build improve and maintain data visualisations and reports to track B2B performance
- Collaborate with the team on analyses related to customer success product usage and sales goals
- Gain a deep understanding of B2B business metrics and use data to identify patterns or areas for improvement
- Partner with your manager and peers to build skills and grow your analytical toolkit
- Measure the impact of initiatives in order to identify growth opportunities and iterate our strategy
- Create reporting that the team can use to evaluate and track business performance and take action upon
What you need to succeed:
- Some experience in the data science & analytics field (around 1-2 years experience or internships preferably)
- Strong working knowledge of SQL for querying and data exploration
- Comfortable with spreadsheets (Google Sheets or Excel) including functions charts and pivot tables
- Some experience with data visualisation (can be in any tool)
- Some knowledge of quantitative fields (statistics mathematics etc.)
- Some coding skills in one or more analytics languages (Python SQL etc.)
- Strong curiosity problem solving and problem finding skills and interest in learning about business context and impact
- Good written and verbal communication skills - B1 English is a must
Nice to have:
- University degree in statistics economics econometrics or a relevant field (or equivalent business experience).
- Experience working in startups tech or digital B2B environments
- Previous experience in Marketplaces and/or digital businesses (B2B B2C B2B2C)
- Basic knowledge of business metrics like retention conversion or usage patterns
- Knowledge of Looker Tableau Amplitude or other BI tools;
- Knowledge of version controlling tools (GitHub GitLab etc.).
