Job Description

Lead the way in safety and crew management! Take charge as Marine Superintendent and drive excellence in vessel operations at DBB Dredging.

On behalf of DBB Dredging MARPRO Group is looking for a Marine Superintendent for the office in Svendborg. You will report to the Chief Operation Officer of the company.

The job

As Marine Superintendent you will take full ownership of both crew management and health safety and environmental oversight for the fleet. Your responsibilities include managing the entire crewing lifecycle working closely with the Crew Assistant. You will also lead the implementation and continuous improvement of the Safety Management System overseeing annual workplace assessments vessel audits and the management of non-conformance reports ensuring timely follow-up and resolution of corrective actions.

In addition to crew and safety management you will be responsible for vessel operation and compliance. This includes conducting regular vessel inspections monitoring maintenance schedules ensuring all vessel certificates remain valid and maintaining adherence to relevant laws and regulations.

You will coordinate closely with the Technical Manager to plan and oversee inspections and dock stays manage interactions with classification societies and handle procurement activities to ensure budget compliance while maintaining and updating purchasing agreements.

This role requires a proactive person capable of balancing crew welfare safety standards and operational efficiency to support the companys maritime excellence.

Professional qualifications

  • Education in either Master Mariner Dual purpose or a related field
  • Interested in conducting internal audits at sea and onshore
  • Understanding of vessel certification port state control and maritime regulations
  • Interested in budgeting and procurement management
  • Interested in maritime crew management and employee evaluations
