Job Description

Nurse Practitioner Geriatrics Permanent Role
  • Location: Marble Falls TX 78657
  • Assignment Duration: Permanent
  • Compensation: Based on experience

Schedule Options:

  • Full-Time Monday Friday 8:00 AM 5:00 PM

  • Flexible scheduling available:

    • 4x10-hour shifts

    • 3x12-hour shifts

Responsibilities:

  • Conduct comprehensive assessments of geriatric patients including physical exams medical histories and psychosocial evaluations
  • Diagnose and manage acute and chronic conditions in elderly patients
  • Develop implement and evaluate individualized treatment and care plans
  • Prescribe medications and therapies according to best practices and state regulations
  • Order and interpret diagnostic tests such as labs X-rays and other imaging studies
  • Collaborate with physicians nurses case managers and other members of the healthcare team to coordinate care
  • Educate patients and families about diagnoses treatment plans medications and lifestyle modifications
  • Promote preventive care strategies including screenings immunizations and health education
  • Document all patient interactions assessments treatments and outcomes in the electronic health record system accurately and in a timely manner

Key Success Factors

  • Proficient in diagnosing and treating human injuries illnesses and chronic conditions
  • Solid understanding of treatment protocols drug interactions and preventive care
  • Skilled in formulating implementing and evaluating patient-centered care plans
  • Strong verbal and written communication abilities
  • Effective interpersonal and critical thinking skills
  • Competency in interpreting diagnostic and lab results
  • Experience with electronic medical record (EMR) systems and clinical software
  • Ability to provide compassionate counseling and health education to patients and families
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and within a multidisciplinary team

Qualifications:

  • Education: Graduate of an accredited Nurse Practitioner program
  • Experience: New graduates accepted (Less than 1 year of experience)

Licenses/Certifications Required:

  • Nurse Practitioner (NP) current license in the state of Texas
  • Registered Nurse (RN) Texas license.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) required within 30 days of hire or transfer
  • Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) licensed in the state of Texas
  • Board Certification as an APRN in a patient population focus (e.g. Adult-Gerontology)
