Process/Water Treatment Operator (Temporary 3-4 months)
Must be able to work 12-hour day or night shift rotating 12 days on and 10 days off. $20-$40/hour depending on experience.
JOB DESCRIPTION
The Process Operator will ensure safe and efficient operation of various processing equipment including but not limited to: water treatment systems solution balance sample collection data recording retrieval of sample data proper handling of potentially hazardous chemicals monitoring/controlling water and slurry flows reagent addition pumps valves piping and other equipment making calculations and adjustments as needed to maintain operating parameters within limits. Inspect and check all other components of operating systems and equipment regularly.
Essential duties include:
- Operate and maintain water and/or wastewater treatment equipment ensuring compliance with state and federal environmental protection limits and adherence to Company policies and standards.
- Human Machine Interface
- Prepare reports and maintain logs on meter readings tests chemical and equipment usage and all other recordkeeping requirements; maintains various Company records and other reports as required by the state.
- Ability to safely work with a variety of chemicals including but not limited to lime chloride caustic mercury etc.
- Clean and maintain treatment plant Responsible for maintaining housekeeping standards
- Perform mechanical tasks as needed within the scope of training and skills
- May be required to operate small frontend loaders forklifts skid steer loaders and dozers.
- Responsible for pre-shift inspections equipment pre-ops etc.
- Report and address safety and environmental concerns
- Works with less on-site supervision but under regular supervision from a more experienced Operations Representative.
- Usually works with minimum supervision conferring with superior on unusual matters. Has appreciable latitude for unsupervised action or decision.
- Plans and conducts assignments generally involving the larger and more important projects or more than one project.
- Recommends changes to policies and procedures that affect immediate department.

SKILLS & EXPERIENCE
Specific skills and experience are as follows:
- Reverse osmosis (RO) experience preferred
- Microfiltration experience preferred
- Ability to walk up down and over rough terrain as well as climb stairways catwalks liner and pads.
- Ability to complete general labor including but not limited to shoveling lifting up to 50 lbs. working at heights.
- Ability to work in adverse weather conditions.
- Previous experience operating small front end loaders dozers and lifting equipment is preferred.
- Previous operator or labor experience is preferred.
- Possesses good communication and interpersonal skills.
- General understanding of mining operations preferred
- Basic computer and technology skills required
