Job Description
We seek a qualified and experienced Machine Shop Manager to oversee maintenance operations across various sites in Papua New Guinea. This role involves managing the upkeep of generators heavy trucks and HVAC units with two direct reports. The position requires regular travel to multiple provinces within PNG.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and coordinate maintenance activities for mechanical equipment.
- Supervise a team of technicians ensuring compliance with safety and quality standards.
- Develop and implement maintenance schedules across multiple sites.
- Collaborate with site managers to align maintenance operations with site requirements.
- Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities and equipment status.
Requirements
- Trade qualification in mechanical engineering or a related field.
- Minimum of 5 years experience in a similar role preferably in heavy equipment or industrial sectors.
- Proven experience in managing maintenance teams and operations.
- Strong understanding of mechanical systems including generators heavy vehicles and HVAC units.
- Willingness to travel extensively within PNG.
