Position SummaryThe Middle School ELA Teacher will deliver high-quality instruction aligned to the FishTank ELA curriculum in grades 58. The ideal candidate brings strong content knowledge a commitment to equity and the ability to create an engaging inclusive classroom environment. The teacher will collaborate with colleagues instructional coaches and support staff to ensure that all students meet or exceed grade-level standards in reading writing speaking and listening. Essential Duties & ResponsibilitiesPlan and deliver standards-aligned ELA lessons using the FishTank curriculum with a focus on rigorous text-based instruction and assessments to meet the needs of multilingual learners students with disabilities and students performing at varying academic a safe structured and student-centered classroom culture rooted in the schools core values (ROAR: Respect Own Advocate Restore).Use formative and summative assessments to monitor student progress provide feedback and adjust instruction students in close reading academic discourse and writing tasks that foster critical thinking and deep with instructional coaches and grade-level teams to unpack curriculum reflect on data and plan intervention accurate and timely documentation of student performance and regularly with families about academic progress behavioral expectations and ways to support learning at in school-wide professional development grade team meetings and coaching the schools mission and contribute to a positive inclusive school culture.
