TITLE:
Physical Therapist
POSTION TYPE:

PRIMARY FUNCTION:
Serve as a part of the team of related service providers who support students with disabilities gain functional independence to better participate in accessing their educational program
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- Masters degree in physical therapy from an accredited university
- Hold or secure appropriate license as required by the Commonwealth of VA Board of Physical Therapy
- Minimum of two years of experience as a physical therapist school based preferred
- Through knowledge of the principles practices and procedures of school-based physical therapy services
- Excellent organizational and oral and written communication skills
- Ability to work independently and to effectively handle multiple school assignments
- Possession of a valid Virginia Drivers License and use of a personal vehicle

PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Function as a member of multi-disciplinary teams to evaluate student function those identifying those requiring school-based therapy services appropriate programming and on-going progress
- Evaluate needs of students designing and implementing appropriate therapies preparing and maintaining appropriate records
- Choose activities to improve student performance in the skill area necessary for accessing curriculum learning and functioning within the school environment
- Identifies acquires and supports the use of accommodations of equipment necessary to facilitate student access to curriculum and learning environments
- Assists with modification of school tasks and activities to accommodate the needs of students
- Reviews and participates in development of IEPs evaluation assessment and progress reports
- Maintains specified records with data on each student referred evaluated and/or identified for on-going physical therapy services
- Submits records reports and assessments promptly and efficiently
- Establishes and monitors caseloads procedures and resources to manage school-based physical therapy services
- Provides other related direct services through a variety of methods as needed
- Participates in activities that promote professional development and use clinical/educational research to enhance direct services
- Support and implement district policies regulations and procedures and administrative directives

Based on teacher salary and years of experience

Performance on this job will be evaluated in accordance with provisions of the Boards policy on Evaluation of Personnel.
