Kemper is adding to the team. The Vendor Management Specialist is responsible for managing vendor relationships optimizing procurement processes interfacing and coordinating with internal Kemper Stakeholders to ensure delivery of high-quality services and products meeting the organizations needs.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Develops and maintains strong relationships with vendors and internal stakeholders to ensure Kemper receives optimal performance and service delivery from Third Parties.
  • Reviews proposed and/or in-force contracts to understand Kemper obligations in the relationship.
  • Identify and/or suggest vendor KPIs service level agreements (SLAs) and key risk indicators (KRIs) that either do or should exist in contracts.
  • Conducts vendor assessments and reviews to identify areas for improvement.
  • Collaborates with internal departments to understand needs and ensure vendor alignment.
  • Resolves issues or disputes with vendors and/or internal stakeholders in a timely and effective manner.
  • Understands market trends and vendor offerings to influence procurement strategies.
  • Maintains/documents vendor communications contracts risk assessments compliance challenges and related performance evaluations.
  • Helps to manage the processes risk assessments offboarding checklist coordinates offboarding intake planning and due diligence when brining on 3rd parties.
  • Assists in the development and implementation of vendor management policies and related procedures/processes.

Position Qualifications:

  • Bachelors degree or equivalent work experience
  • Three to five years of progressive vendor management experience
  • Demonstrated ability to define and track KPIs and other measurable success criteria
  • Experience managing and facilitating vendor relationships and/or contracts
  • Prior experience in an insurance banking or finance setting preferred
  • May involve infrequent travel to sites (less than 5%)
  • This position works at a local Kemper office with possible remote work in Texas.
