Job Summary
The General Liability Claims Team Lead is responsible for directing a remote team of adjusters handling bodily injury claims under general liability coverage. This role ensures consistent efficient claim resolution adherence to company processes and collaboration with legal counsel to uphold coverage standards and mitigate risk.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee a team of up to 6 adjusters managing both litigated and non-litigated bodily injury liability claims
  • Ensure accurate claim handling timely decision making and compliance with internal procedures
  • Review and edit positional correspondence including reservation of rights and denial letters
  • Manage administrative tasks related to team performance and workload distribution
  • Monitor escalated claims authorize settlement requests and coordinate submissions for legal review
  • Partner with in-house counsel to interpret policy coverages and assess jurisdictional impacts
  • Review large losses and litigated matters with Claims Supervisor and at roundtable meetings
  • Identify subrogation opportunities and potential fraud indicators initiating appropriate referrals
  • Respond to adjuster escalated calls and provide ongoing support
  • Facilitate onboarding and training for new team members
  • Conduct regular performance evaluations and deliver continuous coaching

Qualifications/Requirements

  • Bachelors degree or higher
  • Active adjuster license
  • Minimum of 5 years of general liability claims handling experience
  • At least 3 years of experience managing litigated matters
  • Significant supervisory experience and/or a law degree (JD) preferred
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong organizational time-management and prioritization abilities
  • Proficient with claims management systems and other relevant technologies
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work independently with minimal to moderate supervision
