Job Duties
The Department of Early Childhood Elementary Special Education (EESE) within the School of Education at Norfolk State University invites applications for the Adjunct Instructor of Elementary Education position with an anticipated start date of August 15 2025. We seek candidates that have expertise in curriculum development and instruction for elementary school learners inclusive classroom environments and research-based best practices in elementary education.
Norfolk State Universitys Department of Early Childhood Elementary and Special Education (EESE) is housed in the School of Education. The department offers undergraduate and graduate programs focused upon working with children in P-12 school settings as well as community and agency programs.

Minimum Qualifications
To teach masters level courses an earned doctorate (Ph.D. /Ed.D.) in Elementary Education or related field from an accredited college or university is necessary. To teach undergraduate courses an earned masters or education specialist degree in Elementary Education from an accredited college or university is necessary. Candidates should have evidence of or demonstrated potential for inclusive teaching at the undergraduate and/or graduate level that builds engaging relevant and authentic learning experiences for students.
Additional Considerations
Preference will be given to candidates with a record of teaching experience at the college or university level and considerable practice with face-to-face and online course delivery modalities.
