The Advanced Math & Science Academy Charter School is currently accepting applications for a Long Term Substitute English Teacher for grade 8 from August 18 2025-December 20 at the Advanced Math and Science Academy focus intensely on increasing achievement content knowledge and character growth for all; create inspiring challenging and effective teaching and learning experiences for all of our students; are committed to serving all students including English Language Learners and Students with Disabilities in the context of the regular education classroom using a variety of inclusion models; contribute to a strong and supportive professional learning community. Job Responsibilities:The Long Term Substitute English Teacher will: -Teach five sections of grade 8 English including planning lessons grading and providing feedback on assignments communicating with parents and maintaining a Google Classroom platform for each class section. -Work collaboratively with other team members to implement curriculum and support the larger school-wide culture. -Spend time preparing and meeting with other staff in the week before the appointment starts. -Work with administration to uphold and support all school policies and procedures. -Other responsibilities as assigned to help maintain a safe orderly school environment (i.e. traffic and/or lunch duties).Qualifications: -Strong commitment to the Advanced Math and Science Academys mission values and educational model. -Ability to collaborate work well under pressure and maintain a sense of humor and humility. -Bachelors degree in English or English Education -Experience teaching English is preferred. -Current authorization to work in the United States. Candidates must have such authorization by their first day of employment.
