MLC is seeking a passionate dynamic and creative STEM (Science Technology Engineering and Mathematics) teacher to join our middle school team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in one or more STEM disciplines and possess the skills to inspire and engage young minds in the wonders of science technology engineering and mathematics. This position offers the opportunity to shape the next generation of innovators and problem solvers through hands-on learning experiences and project-based curriculum.
Teachers at MLC are responsible for fulfilling the goals and objectives of MLCs educational program as described in its charter. This includes preparing and implementing lessons that are engaging and integrated across subject matter standards-based curriculum development in two languages classroom and behavior management and assessment and evaluation. Teachers at MLC commit to professional growth and development and participate fully in opportunities for professional development to improve practice and meet school-wide goals.

This includes collaborating with the school community to maintain a positive learning environment promoting values such as respect safety mutual support motivation and personal growth. Teachers report to the Principal.
Salary Range is $61846 - $100709 depending on experience.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Ensure that students are developing MLCs Academic Competencies Global Competencies and Social-Emotional Competencies and Behavior Standards.
- Create and maintain effective environments for student learning including the physical environment student-centered learning display of student artifacts and learning process and through implementation of constructivist learning opportunities.
- Plan instruction and design differentiated learning experiences for a range of needs and abilities utilizing the Common Core Standards.
- Provide guidance and supervision to Teaching Assistants if assigned and assign work that supports learning in the classroom.
- Use formative and summative assessments of student learning to drive instruction.
- Collect and analyze student data to improve the school-wide instructional program.
- Explicitly teach Growth Mindset Social Emotional Learning and Executive Function Skills and integrate with academic learning.
- Incorporate explicit learning and application of MLC Five Standards in daily instruction and integrate academic learning.
- Continually support student behavior by creating systems for feedback reflection and growth and develop individualized behavior plans for students when needed.
- Collaborate with Resource Teachers students and families to support the academic and social development of students with disabilities and proactively engage in discussions to meet student academic and social-emotional needs.
- Identify and seek counsel from the Director of Student Services immediately for students presenting significant or concerning academic social or behavioral needs.
- Attend all IEP 504 and SST meetings as required for your students and adequately prepare data for those meetings including present levels of performance with supporting documentation.
- Monitor student progress maintain student records and portfolios and complete assigned paperwork in provided timelines.
- Communicate and actively build strong relationships with students and parents/guardians on a weekly basis via Parent Square or by individually contacting parents as needed including leading ongoing parent conference meetings.
- Respond to parent inquiries in a timely manner.
- Welcome open inquiry and peer feedback and review.
- Participate in school-wide events such as Back-To-School Night Open Houses Parent-Teacher Conferences and School Sponsored Events.
- Attend two-hour Professional Development Staff Meetings every week in addition to Summer PD Days as well as other PD days on the school calendar.
- Participate on school committees and in decision-making processes.
- Recruit and retain students and families to the dual-immersion program.
- Maintain frequent and open communication with MLCs Principal Coaches and Mentors.
Qualifications :
- Valid California Teaching Credential: Multiple Subject Teaching Credential preferred with math or science authorization or Single Subject Teaching Credential in Math & Science.
- English Learner (EL) Authorization.
- Fluency in both English and Spanish and academic level vocabulary and syntax expertise in both languages preferred.
