Penick Village Continuing Care Life Plan Community is seeking an experienced Senior Accountant to join our Accounting Team.
The ideal candidate will have five years relevant experience be detail oriented self-motivated and demonstrate ability to work as part of team. Working knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Word required along with ability to lean new software programs.
General Description:
The Senior Accountant is responsible for managing financial functions including medical billing bookkeeping general ledger accounts payable receivable and maintaining all accounting records and files. This position reports to the Director of Finance.
Responsibilities:
Ensuring day-to-day transactions such as accounts payable accounts receivable and cash receipts. are recorded properly.
Performing timely and accurate journal entries and reconciliations ensuring that accounting schedules are updated and accurate.
Ensuring proper expense recognition.
Monitoring and recording any changes in cash and investment balances.
Ensuring all finance and accounting operations comply with generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP) and federal and state laws and regulations.
Performing fiscal year-end close activities and assisting with activities and requirements of external auditors.
Maintain accounting records for Resident Trusts and Medicaid residents in accordance with policy laws and regulations.
Sales & Use Tax reporting.
Review and manage all Capex projects and Fixed assets.
Cross train with other areas to include Accounts Receivable (medical billing) and Payroll.

Educational Requirements and Qualifications:
Bachelors degree in accounting and minimum 2 years working experience
Knowledge of Accounting terminology and principles.
Knowledge and skill in the use of computers and office machines.
Experience in General Ledger A/R and A/P accounting functions. Knowledge/experience with medical billing would be beneficial.
Demonstrate working knowledge of Excel and Word
