Title: Advisor Mock Trial Advisor (BHS)
FUNCTION: To assume the responsibilities for organizing guiding directing and supervising
the Bellingham High School Mock Trial Team in its activities and be directly
responsible to the building principal.
DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:
- The Mock Trial Coach is responsible for organizing the team and coordinating the schedule with the Massachusetts Bar Association.
- The season runs from early December through early March.
- The coach is also responsible for analysis and interpretation of the Rules of Evidence fact patterns and applicable law.
- The coach must meet on a daily and weekly basis with individual students or the entire team.
- The coach takes the team into court for the trial competitions.
- Adheres to the adopted policies of the Bellingham School Committee.
EXPERIENCE:
- Preferably a member of the High School teaching staff.
- Experience and knowledge of Massachusetts Law.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Dedication to the service of youth.
- Demonstrated ability to relate favorably with students.
