Elementary Music Teacher (Grades K5)
Location: Enfield Public Schools Enfield CT
Position Type: Full-Time Certified
Certification Required: Music PK12 (049) CT State Department of Education
Position Overview:
Enfield Public Schools is seeking a passionate and dedicatedElementary Music Teacher to join our vibrant learning community. The ideal candidate will inspire young learners through engaging developmentally appropriate music instruction that fosters creativity musical literacy and a lifelong appreciation for the arts.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver high-quality general music instruction to students in grades K5 using best practices aligned with the National Core Arts Standards and the Connecticut Arts Standards.
- Design and implement lessons that incorporate singing movement instruments listening and music literacy.
- Differentiate instruction to meet the diverse needs of learners including students with special needs and English language learners.
- Foster a safe inclusive and joyful classroom environment that encourages curiosity collaboration and self-expression.
- Collaborate with colleagues families and the community to support student growth and achievement.
- Organize and direct student performances and school-wide musical events.
- Use formative and summative assessments to guide instruction and measure student progress.
- Maintain compliance with all district policies and CT State Department of Education certification requirements.
Qualifications:
- Valid Connecticut Teaching Certification in Music PK12 (049).
- Bachelors degree in Music Education or related field (Masters preferred).
- Demonstrated knowledge of child development and best practices in elementary music education.
- Strong classroom management and communication skills.
- Commitment to equity inclusion and culturally responsive teaching.
