Job Description

Human Resources Specialist

The Human Resources Specialist is a key member of the HR team responsible for supporting a broad range of human resources functions. This role plays a critical part in promoting a positive workplace culture by assisting with employee onboarding benefits administration policy implementation compliance and employee engagement initiatives. This role requires a collaborative working relationship with all departments in alignment with employment laws and the mission and values of the organization.

Position: Full-Time Exempt

Schedule: Monday-Friday 8AM-4:30PM

Job Duties:

Support employees and managers with HR policies and everyday questions

Assist with resolving minor employee issues and escalate as needed

Help manage benefits enrollment and leave requests (e.g. FMLA ADA)

Ensure compliance with employment laws and maintain accurate HR records

Coordinate onboarding and ongoing employee training programs

Contribute to HR initiatives projects and reporting

Assist with unemployment claims and perform other HR-related tasks as needed


Qualifications:

Bachelors degree in human resources Business Administration or related field preferred.

2 years of experience in employee relations HR generalist or a related HR function.

Experience working in the nonprofit sector or with populations with disabilities.

SHRM-CP SHRM-SCP or PHR certification.

Working knowledge of employment law and HR best practices.

Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.

Strong conflict resolution and problem-solving abilities.

High level of confidentiality integrity and emotional intelligence.

Commitment to the values of inclusion accessibility and respect for people with disabilities.

Free of a conviction or prior employment history of child or resident abuse or dependent adult abuse.

Valid drivers license and eligible to be a qualified driver for Hills & Dales per company policy.

Primarily office-based with occasional travel to program sites or community locations may be required.


Offer contingent upon the succressful completetion of a criminal background check dependernt adult and child abuse background check and drug screen.
