The spa department is responsible for creating an ambiance of relaxation healing and renewal. Our sanctuary is located on our serene mezzanine level of the resort overseeing the ocean. We have 14 treatment rooms a relaxing spa lounge sauna steam room fitness center whirlpool and a swimming pool for the ultimate spa experience. As a nail technician youre responsible for delivering luxurious high-end nail & foot applications. Product knowledge and developing a deep understanding of nails products youre selling including ingredients benefits and usage instructions.
Job Summary:
The Nail Technician administers exceptional hair services while creating an environment of comfort and relaxation for guests.
Essential Job Functions:
Performs professional nail care treatments and services.
Conducts customized hair styles adapting treatments according to guest needs.
Recommends nail care maintenance plans while promoting retail product lines.
Educates clients on how to obtain and maintain healthy nails.
Creates exceptional experiences for clients through a friendly and helpful attitude.
Maintains the professionalism and cleanliness of salon rooms and common areas.
Ensures appointments are on time communicating delays as necessary.
Accurately promotes Salon services and retail in a courteous and informative manner.
Responsible for pre-setting and re-setting each treatment station.
Maintains up to date knowledge of all trends and developments within the professional hair
community related to products treatment and techniques.
Maintains knowledge of Salon spa hotel and community events to accurately and clearly
communicate information to guests and employees.
Performs related duties as requested by management.
Education Experience and Skill Requirements:
Current NJ Cosmetology license required and Liability Insurance
Previous experience as a cosmetologist strongly preferred.
High school diploma or equivalent required. Advanced training with career interest in a related
Industry is preferred.
Superior customer service and interpersonal skills required; we must enjoy working with people.
Must be able to communicate effectively with staff and guests orally and in writing.
Must be able to always maintain a professional appearance.
Must be able to work a flexible schedule including nights weekends and holidays as necessary.
Flexibility to be cross trained in other spa functions/services preferred.
Physical Qualifications:
Requires the ability to bend twist and stand to perform normal job functions.
Ability to stand for extended periods of time.
The Ocean Place Resort & Spa in Long Branch New Jersey is the premier oceanfront hotel between New York and Atlantic City which offers 255 spacious guest rooms featuring comfortable bedding and views of the Atlantic Ocean; five luxury suites offering large sitting areas and wide balconies; 100000 square feet of meeting/event space with 38 function rooms; private beach; fine dining and casual restaurants; tennis court two swimming pools a heated whirlpool fitness center and a full-service spa.
