POSITION: Senior Manager New Teacher Development and Experience
LOCATION: DSST Public Schools: Home Office located in Denver CO
SALARY: $75500 - $93200 with up to ten years of aligned experience. This is a fixed term position beginning July 1 2025 and ending 06/05/2026. We also offer a relocation stipend for anyone joining us from 75 miles or more from Denver!

KEY ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES
DSST Public Schools (DSST) seeks a Senior Manager of Teacher Development and Experience to join one of the leading charter school organizations in the nation. This position provides a unique opportunity for an individual with superior program visioning strategic planning project-management people-leadership and relationship-building skills to play a central role in supporting the development and experience of new teachers across the organization.
WHAT YOULL DO:
Lead and monitor the New Teacher Development and Experience Strategy (95%):
Work with the Director Teacher Development and Instructional Leadership to identify needs design and implement DSSTs new teacher development strategy ensuring alignment with our mission and educational goals and with a particular emphasis on curricular content.
Partner with Home Office Content Managers (Science ELA and Math) to build development and coaching systems to support new teachers with curricular content.
Lead the new teacher development strategic initiative by developing and implementing a comprehensive multi-year program for new career teachers to foster a profound change in classroom practices teacher efficacy and retention rates.
Design a new teacher mentoring program to support new teacher experience effectiveness and retention.
Work in partnership with schools with high numbers of new/early career teachers and apprentice teachers acting as a consistent (weekly) presence on campus to provide guidance and support for new teacher development.
Collaborate with multiple Home Office teams including Leader Development Culture Special Education Content Managers and Assessment to monitor gather input assess build and implement plans to address new teacher development and experience needs.
Collaborate with the Manager of Talent Pipelines to ensure high-quality professional development programs for Apprentice Teachers including summer training ongoing professional development and mentorship throughout the school year.
Manage implementation and logistics of various DSST professional development (e.g. network content PD days NSI TLI new teacher cohort)
Evaluate the impact of professional development activities on new teacher teacher perception and performance and student outcomes leveraging data from surveys observations and student learning to make informed adjustments and improvements to the new teacher development strategy
Create a system for content onboarding utilized by new hires throughout the school year.
Stay abreast of the latest educational research trends and best practices especially in the realm of new career teacher professional development to continually elevate the quality of DSSTs teacher development program.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelors Degree from an accredited college or university
Possesses 3 years as a 6-12 educator and instructional leader encompassing mentorship and coaching responsibilities dedicated to cultivating and empowering new educators.
7 years of experience working with both middle school and high school students as well as school staff fostering a positive and impactful learning environment.
Proven measurable success in enhancing teacher retention rates.
Displays measurable advancements in student performance on assessments such as CMAS/PSAT showcasing tangible outcomes from implemented strategies and interventions.
Highly organized individual comfortable with delivering impactful professional development sessions both in-person and virtually adept at adapting to various instructional settings.
Proactive problem-solving skills showcasing initiative both independently and within a team context and adeptness in facilitating classroom sessions and educational events.
Ability to create clear replicable systems and procedures for others to adopt coupled with a strong customer service mindset guiding users toward effective solutions.
Showcased influential leadership at school or network levels exemplifying visionary strategy development and execution on an organizational or system-wide scope.
IDEAL QUALIFICATIONS
Proven commitment to and experience with serving students of color students with disabilities and/or multilingual students
7 years of experience in education (classroom experience required)
3 years of experience in school leadership or central office or network leadership
Ample classroom experience and a diverse range of leadership roles within the school setting (e.g. department lead coaching roles vice-principal) showcasing a creative and entrepreneurial approach in teacher training and program development.
