TITLE: Data Analyst / Research Assistant
JOB DESCRIPTION:
The Data Analyst/Research Assistant supports strategic decision-making by providing actionable insights from student program and performance data. This role partners with academic and operational leaders to ensure data systems inform instruction equity efforts and continuous improvement.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelors degree in data science education policy statistics or related field (Masters preferred)
- Two (2) years of statistical data analysis experience or job related experience
- Proficiency in Power BI Tableau Excel and/or Google Sheets
- Familiarity with educational data and school improvement processes
- Strong communication and visualization skills
- Commitment to equity and using data to improve outcomes for all students
- State of Arizona Identity Verified (IVP) Fingerprint Clearance Card.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Design build and maintain dashboards and data visualizations for district and school leaders.
- Analyze academic performance program effectiveness and demographic trends.
- Prepare reports and presentations that communicate key insights clearly and effectively.
- Partner with the CAO Director of Curriculum and school leaders to guide data-informed planning.
- Support integration of data from SIS LMS and assessment systems (e.g. PowerSchool NWEA)
- Conduct impact analysis of instructional initiatives interventions and pilots.
- Compiles processes and analyzes educational and demographic data.
- Participates in District research and evaluation projects.
- Handles and protects confidential and sensitive data with integrity and in accordance with FERPA.
- Conduct statistical data analysis of student performance and demographic data.
- Prepare reports and interpret findings to various audiences.
- Collaborate with supervisor to create and maintain a student performance reporting systems that provides useful data for instructional decision-making program evaluation and accountability.
- Attend trainings and seminars.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
KNOWLEDGE SKILLS AND OTHER CHARACTERISTICS:
- Knowledge of computer software utilized in tracking and maintaining reports
- Knowledge of customer service/public relations practices and procedures
- Knowledge of recordkeeping/file management practices and procedures
- Knowledge of Microsoft Excel and familiarity with common statistical software packages (e.g. SPSS)
- Skill accurately inputting and retrieving information from computer databases
- Skill utilizing verbal and written communication skills in the development of reports and records
- Skill implementing policies and procedures related to area of assignment
- Skill utilizing customer service/public relations techniques when responding to inquiries and complaints
- Skill establishing and maintaining effective working relationships
- Ability to design and conduct statistical analyses of data of various types and from multiple sources
- Ability to communicate findings to stakeholders and assist stakeholders to use data for purposes of accountability program evaluation and improvement

May need to drive to other sites to complete work assignments
