Since 1971 the Hampton-Newport News Community Services Board has provided a comprehensive continuum of high-quality essential and community-based services to citizens of the Peninsula who are living with mental illness developmental disabilities and substance use disorders.
The Full-Time Property Management Assistant position at Hampton-Newport News Community Services Board is a critical role dedicated to enhancing the quality of life for our consumers by supporting efficient property management and resource coordination. In this multifaceted position you will provide essential clerical and operational support at multiple property offices helping ensure smooth day-to-day functions and strong communication between residents management and vendors.
Key responsibilities include receiving visitors answering phone inquiries collecting and processing rent payments and accurately posting rent into Yardi Voyager software. You will schedule tenants annual and interim recertification appointments collect all required documentation for the recertification process and maintain up-to-date and confidential tenant records. The role also includes conducting semi-annual housekeeping inspections to support property standards and assisting the Property Manager with resident concerns and complaints to help ensure timely and respectful resolution.
Additionally youll prepare move-in packets distribute resident notices and coordinate with maintenance vendors as needed. Working under the direct supervision of the Property Management Specialist this position offers a meaningful opportunity to contribute to the success of affordable housing initiatives while developing valuable organizational communication and technical skills in a collaborative environment.

To excel as a Full Time Property Management Assistant at the Hampton-Newport News Community Services Board candidates must have at least three (3) years of experience performing clerical/administrative functions. Requires proficiency in using Microsoft Office applications to develop and present information and a Valid Virginia drivers license.
