Description

ABOUT THE ROLE:Under the direction of the Day Program Supervisor the DSP will provide after day program hours support training and service coordination for the individuals served in our Adult Day Program.

SCHEDULE AND COMPENSATION:

  • On-site position.
  • Monday-Friday40 hours per week (9am-5pm shift)
  • Salary range $20.50 - $22.50/hour(non-exempt).
  • Salary based on skills and experience.
  • Up to 6% annual bonus potential.
  • 403b retirement plan with up to a 4% company match.

A TYPICAL DAY FOR YOU AT HH:

  • Communicate all individual/client needs to supervisor including schedules medical behavioral and family needs.
  • Provide supervision to and actively engage individuals while training and supporting through individualized plans in daily living community integration leisure and work skills either individually or in a group setting.
  • Assist in the development of curriculum/lesson plans implement and present lesson plans to individuals in class settings through various teaching methods.
  • Assist with ADLs (Activities of Daily Living)feeding and toileting as per the individualized need of each person served.
  • Assist with welcoming monitoring and transitioning of new clients into the program.
  • Implement and document individual training objectives.
  • Participate as a member of the individuals interdisciplinary team and attends team meetings/staffing as required.
  • Complete all paperwork required documentation and conduct emergency drills as assigned.
  • Assist in teaching training and supporting new team members on shift as they learn their new role.
  • Cohesively work with and support volunteers within program setting.
  • Attend all team and agency meetings and complete training requirements as scheduled.
  • Set up programming areas in the most effective manner to maximize training potential and maintain assigned space in a clean and orderly manner.
  • Monitor individuals throughout the shift remaining awake and alert.
  • Plan and implement quality recreational activities and opportunities onsite and in the surrounding community for the afterhours groups.
  • Identify solutions problem solving and communicating situations within the afterhours program.
  • Safely drive individuals for various programming purposes that include community events that may occur in the evenings and some weekends.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

LAND THIS OPPORTUNITY BY HAVING:

Education:

  • High School Diploma or GED required.

Experience:

  • Experience working with intellectual and developmental disability population (preferred).
  • DSP certified preferred. If not currently DSP certified the ability to complete DSP training within 90 days of hire.

Skill Sets:

  • Ability to fulfill all necessary training requirements of the agency including but not limited to crisis management (crisis management training includes de-escalation strategies and physical management techniques).
  • The ability to ensure and maintain a safe environment for yourself and all clients by using proper professional crisis management techniques and in accordance with all agency training policies.
  • Proficient and comfortable with technology such as Microsoft Office Teams Zoom etc.
  • Possess problem-solving and time management skills.
  • Sound organizational skills and ability to multitask while prioritizing multiple urgencies as required.
  • Present interpersonal communication skills both verbal and written.
  • Ability to promote and adhere to company values.

  • Valid drivers license with acceptable driving record and ongoing motor vehicle insurance (preferred).
  • Must be able to apply for PACE certification.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

  • The person in this position may encounter clients exhibiting physical aggression; must be comfortable working in periods of crisis and feel comfortable de-escalating individually or as a team.
  • The person in this position needs to occasionally move about to assist clients or other team team members access file cabinets office machinery etc.
  • The ability to observe details at a close range (within a few feet of the observer).
  • Consistently position self to maintain files in file cabinets or assist clients or other team members.
  • The ability to communicate information and ideas so others will understand. Must be able to exchange accurate information in these situations.
