Position
The claims department has an immediate opening for someone who can demonstrate the WCF values to join their team as a Claims Operations Specialist. This is a full-time exempt position based in WCFs Sandy Utah headquarters. Hybrid work is available.
Responsibilities
- Design update and deliver customized training curricula for new hires and existing staff to ensure consistent knowledge and skill development across the department.
- Develop and maintain comprehensive training materials manuals guidelines and tools to support effective learning and consistent claims handling practices.
- Identify opportunities for improvement and recommend enhancements to systems workflows and procedures to increase departmental efficiency and productivity.
- Provide ongoing training and support to the workers compensation adjusting team ensuring up-to-date knowledge of procedures and best practices.
- Work cross-functionally to identify problems design effective solutions and support implementation and training efforts to ensure successful adoption.
- Assist in developing and reviewing policies procedures and guidelines to ensure uniform application across the department.
- Partner with other departments to share claims knowledge and support the organizations mission of excellence.
- Analyze claims trends and provide actionable insights to improve claims management practices.
- Manage special initiatives and serve as a subject matter expert on claims-handling issues across the organization.
- Champion a culture of outstanding customer service in all aspects of claims handling and team interactions.
Qualifications
- Bachelors degree in a related field or AIC designation preferred.
- Two years of experience in claims adjusting preferred or an equivalent combination of education and relevant work experience.
- Sound knowledge of workers compensation statutes and case law general liability and insurance industry issues third-party recovery and claims principles.
- Exceptional customer service interpersonal decision-making critical-thinking and communication skills.
- Strong organization skills.
