Principal Product Manager -Technical, Translation Services

We are looking for a Principal Product Manager - Technical to create a product vision and execution strategy that as LLM-based translation technology evolves at a rapid pace will drive step-change improvement scale our services and deliver the best experience for our customers. Key job responsibilities
As a Principal Product Manager - Technical you will partner with stakeholders across Amazon -- content owners developers program managers and linguists -- to understand their biggest problems and opportunities. You will work closely with multiple software development teams product managers and UX designers to define our three-year product strategy build features to execute on that strategy and measure the features ability to successfully meet your stakeholders needs. You must be able to be deeply connected to the customer experience product details and success metrics yet be able to zoom out to the 10000-foot level to understand how any new feature fits into the broader Translation Services ecosystem and Amazon as a whole. Strong written and verbal communication skills are essential as this role will need to clearly communicate the product strategy outcomes and deliverables to diverse stakeholders. You must thrive in ambiguity and be comfortable making high-judgment calls including deciding when to debate escalate risks or pivot from the plan.

About the team
The team consists of Product Managers UX Designer Program Managers and Software Developers located in Seattle Barcelona and Hyderabad. The central team builds end-to-end translation technology optimizing the quality and cost of translations across all of Amazons content. We build state of the art translation technology: traditional and LLM-based machine translation computer-aided translation translation memories and term bases LLM-based QA dynamic workflow/routing decisions etc.) to streamline productivity and ensure consistent quality.

- Bachelors degree
- 10 years of end to end product delivery experience
- Strong understanding of software development principles and practices
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
- Strong communication and stakeholder management abilities

- Masters degree in computer science business math or related technical field
- Experience with LLM-based technologies
- Experience with Agile methodologies
- Track record of launching successful SaaS products
- Experience with data analytics and A/B testing

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $161900/year in our lowest geographic market up to $279900/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge skills and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
