About the Role
The role of the McGrath Cancer Care Nurse (MCCN) Colorectal and Lung is to provide specialist nursing care information education and support to patients diagnosed with colorectal and lung cancers.
The MNNC Colorectal /Lung is a highly skilled and motivated practitioner who will utilise expert skills knowledge and experience to work as a member of the multidisciplinary health care team according to the complexity of care required and the individual need of the patients in their care.
Your duties will include to:
function as a resource person to patients carers families clinical services and community agencies
deliver a coordinated evidenced-based seamless and patient focused approach to care through specialist educational resources for patients carers and staff
work independently and establish extensive interdisciplinary collaborations across primary secondary and tertiary health
maintain a close collaborative working relationship with the medical oncology team chemotherapy day unit and inpatient ward staff
Classifications for this position will range from ZA7 - ZA8 ($119324 - $122163 per annum; pro rata.)
Your Contribution
Post Graduate qualifications in oncology or palliative care
AHPRA Nursing Registration Division 1
Minimum of 5 years full time equivalent post registration experience as a registered nurse with at least 3 years recent full time equivalent experience in Oncology Palliative Care. Experience in caring for patients with lung and colorectal cancers is essential.

About Cancer Services
The Colorectal and Lung multidisciplinary teams at SVHM provide comprehensive cancer services to in-patients day patients outpatients and satellite clinics through diagnosis and management. The multidisciplinary clinical teams consist of surgery radiation and medical oncology radiation oncology and palliative care and other specialist health care professionals.
