Job Summary:
The Senior Manager of Fixed Asset and Lease Accounting is a critical member of Inviteds Accounting team and will lead all facets of the fixed asset and lease accounting teams including leadership of those teams. This pivotal role entails ensuring adherence to accounting standards streamlining processes and offering strategic financial insights to bolster business transactions and expansion.
This role has a hybrid work schedule with three days in Irving TX office per week.
Day-to-Day:
- Provide financial leadership and accounting guidance for Lease and Fixed Asset Accounting including interpreting new guidance to determine accounting treatment and implementing related accounting procedures
- Oversee period financial close activities related to leases and fixed assets to ensure an accurate and timely period quarterly and year-end close including reviewing journal entries and account reconciliations
- Own impairment of long-lived assets and intangible processes
- Lead user testing and system maintenance updates and enhancements for CoStar (lease accounting platform) and Oracle Assets
- Develop implement and monitor compliance with accounting policies and procedures communicating changes to impacted departments
- Support an effective internal control environment by performing controls ensuring control compliance identifying control gaps and recommending new controls as needed working closely with Inviteds Internal Audit team
- Ensure compliance with internal control policies in a SOX environment as applicable
- Support external audit and serve as the main point of contact for leases and fixed assets
- Generate and review reports as needed to support budgeting and forecasting as well as analyzing activity for unusual trends and accuracy of balances
- Coach and develop team members by assessing strengths and developmental needs; provide timely and specific feedback
- Execute ad hoc analysis as needed to provide recommended solutions in support of the business
- Lead transformation efforts to further efficiency and to continually improve the teams analytical capabilities
About You:
- Bachelors degree in accounting or finance required
- Previous supervisory experience required
- General Ledger andsystems experience needed (preferably Oracle Cloud)
- Proficiency with Microsoft Excel
- Leadership acumen to mentor a team in a fast-paced environment with an emphasis on accuracy and timeliness
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong analytical and critical thinking skills
- In-depth knowledge of accounting principles staying updated on current GAAP guidance
- Exceptional documentation research and issue resolution skills
- Detail-oriented and organized
- Holds self and others accountable for achieving results
- CPA (or candidate) preferred
- Experience with a public accounting firm preferred
- Club/Hospitality and multi-unit experience preferred
