Job Title: Group Accounting & Reporting Specialist
Location: Barcelona Spain Hybrid
Job Description
The Group Accounting & Reporting Specialist supports the application of accounting standards and the development of accounting guidance/trainings. She/he oversees specific accounting areas (esp. share-based payments accounting administration) and provides accounting support to local finance teams. She/he assists in the monthly closing process and the annual and interim consolidated financial statements preparation.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the monthly consolidation process and reporting to the Group CFO
- Support the preparation of the consolidated annual and interim financial statements in accordance with IFRS ensuring compliance with IFRS and regulatory requirements
- Assist with the application of IFRS and Swiss Code of Obligations to complex transactions (e.g. share-based payments financial instruments revenue recognition acquisitions divestitures restructuring etc.)
- Independently manage Galdermas share-based payment accounting administration incl. quarterly calculations and regular forecasts in accordance with IFRS 2 and Swiss Code of Obligations
- Prepare accounting memoranda in accordance with IFRS and Swiss Code of Obligations and support the maintenance and update of the Galderma Group Accounting Manual and accounting policies
- Act as a point of contact for local or group finance teams on IFRS accounting reporting and consolidation matters
- Develop and conduct accounting trainings to finance teams around the world
- Support special projects such as mergers & acquisitions system migrations or process improvements
- Coordinate with external auditors during audit processes
Skills & Qualifications
- Bachelors or Masters degree in accounting finance or related field
- CPA ACCA CA or equivalent professional accounting qualification
- Minimum 6-8 years of experience in group accounting/consolidation roles accounting advisory or audit
- Advanced IFRS (esp. IFRSand IAS 19). Knowledge of the Swiss Code of Obligations accounting knowledge
- Knowledge of consolidation tools is an advantage
- Excellent analytical communication and problem-solving skills
- High attention to detail and ability to work under pressure and to deadlines
- Fluency in English (written and spoken); additional languages are an advantage
