Job Description

Position: Transportation Coordinator ofOperations

Location:Transportation Department

Reports to: Executive Director ofTransportation

Length of Employment:261 days

Salary: As per Berkeley County pay schedule with years of experienceand degree level-Coordinator index

QUALIFICATIONS:

  1. Successful Applicantshall possess a commercial drivers license within one year of employment
  2. Five years of school transportation (or equivalent) preferred
  3. Ability to establish and maintain positive relationships within the school and community
  4. Candidates must be able to demonstrate the ability to function effectively as a team member in determining appropriate transportation services for the children
  5. Ability to assistbus drivers and relevant school staff in theuse of transportation technology

KNOWLEDGE SKILLS AND ABILITIES: Knowledge of school counseling techniques and referral process. Ability to coordinate the implementation of the Comprehensive School Counseling Plan. Knowledge of community resources. Ability to identify staff development needs and coordinate training and informational meetings. Knowledge of testing and measurement. Ability to analyze and interpret data. Possess computer skills for data entry and retrieval. Ability to interact with a wide variety of people including students parents agency and school personnel. Ability to maintain confidentiality.

PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Coordinate and manage all co-curricular and extra-curricular trips
  2. Organize and manage trip meetings trip cancellations and be available after hours for schools with trip and manage all mid-day assignments and assign substitutes as necessary.Work with and gather information for the WV DEP Berkeley Co. Water and Sewer and Tanknology to stay in compliance.
  3. Manage the fuel access key system and monthly fuel reports

  4. Coordinate the random drug and alcohol testing program pursuant to FMCSA regulations.
  5. Oversee the inventory supervisor shop foremen and school vehicles.
  6. Oversee trainers and training program.
  7. Assist with investigations regarding any student and/or driver behavior.
  8. Winter weather checks and responding to accidents as necessary.
  9. Review contractor invoices and make changes as needed
  10. Update TravelTracker invoices monthly
  11. Coordinate withVarsity/River Riders onboth weekly andstate events
  12. Others duties as assigned.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Light Work: Exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally and/or up to 10 pounds of force frequently as needed to move objects

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: Salary and benefits shall be paid consistent with the districts approved compensation plan. 261-day contract of employment shall be established by the district.
