Job Description
The City of Wilmington is currently accepting applications for a part-time Laborer in the Streets Department. Working under direct supervision this position assists with the maintenance and cleaning of City streets sidewalks curbs gutters storm drains rights-of-way and related structures.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
- Completion of secondary education or equivalent (high school diploma or GED); or any equivalent combination of education experience and training which provides the required knowledge skills and abilities.
- Must possess a valid State of Ohio drivers license and must remain insurable under the Citys vehicle insurance plan.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF THE POSITION:
Sweep shovel and remove debris from City streets gutters sidewalks and rights-of-way
Assist with leaf collection mowing grass trimming trees and weed eating in public areas
Participate in snow and ice removal operations
Install repair and maintain street signs and signposts
Make minor repairs to traffic lights repair potholes install raised traffic bars guardrails and reflectors
Perform basic maintenance on equipment and vehicles including cleaning and washing
Adhere to all job safety requirements and applicable OSHA standards
Demonstrate regular and reliable attendance
Attend required trainings meetings or seminars as directed
This positions starting salary is $17.31 per hour.
