Position: Preschool Teacher Sacred Heart Early Childhood Center SchoolReports to: Principal Sacred Heart Elementary School Kingston MASchool Mission:Sacred Heart School System in Kingston MA (SHS) is a private Catholic co-educational learning community for students in preschool through grade 8. Position Overview: The Sacred Heart Elementary School and Early Childhood Center are part of the Sacred Heart School System which is sponsored by the Sisters of Divine Providence. A Teacher at Sacred Heart School is responsible for creating a faith-based safe nurturing and innovative learning environment within his/her classroom. The Teacher works collaboratively and communicates effectively with all members of the Sacred Heart community including students parents faculty administrators and staff in creating a culture that is respectful welcoming and engaging and inspires a love for learning. Primary Responsibilities:Teach basic academic social and other formative and enforce rules for behavior and procedures for maintaining order among students for whom he/she is and evaluate students performance behavior social development and physical materials and classrooms for class teaching methods and instructional materials to meet students varying needs and and conduct activities for a balanced program of instruction demonstration and work time that provides students with opportunities to observe question and students individually and in groups using various teaching methods such as lectures discussions and demonstrations. Prepare students for later grades by encouraging them to explore learning opportunities and to persevere with challenging and counsel students with adjustment and/or academic problems or special academic interests. Provide a variety of materials and resources for children to explore manipulate and use both in learning activities and in imaginative administration policies and rules governing with other staff members to plan and schedule lessons promoting learning following approved computers audiovisual aids and other equipment and materials to supplement professional meetings educational conferences and teacher training workshops in order to maintain and improve professional staff and Experience:Associate Degree State EEC certification Familiarity with theories and practices of child development Knowledgeable of first aid and emergency interpersonal communication and listening skills able to observe a child and recognize and develop a plan to deal with issues if they exist. Conflict resolution skills. Stress management skills Highly organized able to manage time well and a good decision-maker.
