This person ensures site preparation trenching conduit installation and foundational work are completed safely efficiently and in alignment with solar system layouts and engineering drawings. The role bridges traditional civil work with PV installation best practices and site safety standards.

Key Responsibilities:
Lead field crews in civil construction activities including trenching conduit routing and concrete work.
Read and interpret site plans electrical drawings and trench layouts to execute underground work.
Ensure accurate installation of PVC and HDPE conduit to spec for DC and AC cabling.
Supervise and perform tasks such as hand digging hydro-vac operation grading and backfill work.
Coordinate with electricians and solar technicians to support system installation and interconnection.
Form pour and finish concrete for array foundations pads and trench support.
Inspect civil work for compliance with project standards codes and safety protocols.
Operate hand tools trenchers and hydro-vac equipment as needed.
Maintain daily logs material counts and photo documentation of civil progress.
Identify and resolve issues related to site conditions alignment trench routing or conduit conflicts.
Restore disturbed areas (grade seed and straw) per environmental or contractual requirements.
Ensure crew adherence to OSHA and company safety practices including PPE usage.
Support solar installation tasks as needed (e.g. racking layout grounding labeling).
Requirements:
3 years of civil construction or solar installation experience with at least 1 year in a leadership role.
Ability to read construction prints and interpret trenching/conduit plans.
Strong understanding of underground conduit installation and concrete forming/finishing.
OSHA 10 certification (required).
High school diploma or equivalent.
Valid drivers license with a clean driving record.
Must be able to lift 50 lbs work outdoors in varying weather and operate basic construction tools.
Preferred: Experience working on commercial solar projects.
