Description
As the Principal Innovation Catalyst you will play a pivotal role in identifying evaluating and developing groundbreaking ideas in the AI/ML space. You will lead efforts to take concepts from 0 to 1 providing the expertise and leadership needed to drive innovation and create value. Working collaboratively with internal teams and external stakeholders you will champion ideas guide a small team and leverage advanced AI/ML knowledge to bring ideas to life.
Key Responsibilities:
- Idea Vetting and Evaluation:
- Assess and vet external and internal ideas identifying opportunities with the highest potential for impact.
- Conduct feasibility studies risk assessments and market analyses for AI/ML-driven concepts.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to refine ideas and define success criteria.
- Innovation Leadership:
- Lead the development of new AI/ML-powered solutions from concept to prototype (0 to 1).
- Drive innovation initiatives in alignment with Fortives strategic priorities.
- Mentor and inspire a small agile team to deliver high-impact results.
- Collaboration and Stakeholder Engagement:
- Foster collaboration across cross-functional teams including engineering product management and business development.
- Build and maintain relationships with external partners startups and thought leaders in the AI/ML space.
- Serve as a thought leader and innovation advocate within Fortive.
- Technical Expertise:
- Apply advanced AI/ML knowledge to develop novel solutions that address complex problems.
- Stay abreast of emerging technologies and trends in artificial intelligence machine learning and data science.
- Provide technical guidance to the team and ensure alignment with best practices in AI/ML development.
- Execution and Delivery:
- Develop proof-of-concepts prototypes and MVPs to validate ideas and demonstrate value.
- Ensure timely delivery of projects within scope and budget.
- Drive continuous improvement and learning to optimize innovation processes.
Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelors degree in Computer Science Engineering or a related field; advanced degree (Masters or Ph.D.) preferred.
- Experience:
- 8 years of experience in AI/ML product innovation or related fields.
- Proven track record of taking ideas from concept to execution (0 to 1).
- Experience leading cross-functional teams in a fast-paced entrepreneurial environment.
- Expertise in developing AI/ML models algorithms and solutions.
- Skills:
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills to engage stakeholders at all levels.
- Ability to balance strategic thinking with tactical execution.
- Proficiency in programming languages (e.g. Python R) and AI/ML tools/platforms (e.g. TensorFlow PyTorch etc.).
