The Role
Lead the development production and release of original authentic and engaging contemporary First Nations audio content across on-demand and linear platforms.
Youll identify First Nations talent and content opportunities and lead the development of new Indigenous audio content and formats.
You will provide leadership high level editorial direction and advice to the ABC Indigenous Audio team as well as identify training needs and support staff to foster creativity and achieve the highest standards of reporting presentation and production to meet current and future needs of the division.
Youll work in alignment with Indigenous Diversity & Inclusion goals and actively contribute to the development and implementation of the ABCs RAP & Diversity and Inclusion and Belonging Plans.
Youll utilise your strong interpersonal skills as you develop and foster key relationships with various stakeholders including ABC Marketing ABC Content and external parties/ vendors to ensure the best outcomes are achieved across the Corporation.

About You
Well respected in your community you will possess highly developed and demonstrated knowledge and understanding of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultures and a strong understanding of the issues affecting First Nations people.
With a journalism background youll have experience as a senior First Nations editorial content leader with a proven track record of working with Indigenous talent and teams to create compelling audience-centred audio with a broad understanding and exposure to key audio digital and media platforms.
You will also have demonstrated editorial management and leadership experience with the ability to lead manage and develop high performing teams and drive a positive workplace culture.
