Position Description

The Department of Communication Sciences and Disorders (CSD) in the School of Applied Sciences at the University of Mississippi invites applications for a full-time nine-month non-tenure track position at the rank of Clinical Assistant Professor. The anticipated start date is August 21 2025. We seek a dynamic and experienced professional with a strong background in speech-language pathology particularly in medical speech-language pathology. Applicants with other areas of expertise will be considered. Candidates must hold a masters degree in communication sciences and disorders or a closely related field possess the Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech-Language Pathology (CCC-SLP) and be eligible for licensure in the state of Mississippi. This position offers the opportunity to contribute to future speech-language pathologists clinical education and training in a supportive and collegial academic environment.

The school currently serves 9 undergraduate 10 masters and 4 doctoral programs (

The CSD Department has a team of 17 faculty and staff and over 350 students ( CSD currently offers Bachelor of Science and Master of Science programs in Communication Sciences and Disorders. The Master of Science program is accredited by the Council on Academic Accreditation in Audiology and Speech-Language Pathology of the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association.

Minimum Qualifications

Applicants with other areas of expertise will be considered. Candidates must hold a masters degree in communication sciences and disorders or a closely related field possess the Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech-Language Pathology (CCC-SLP) and be eligible for licensure in the state of Mississippi. A minimum of five years of experience in clinical education and/or supervision is required.A minimum of five years of experience in clinical education and/or supervision is required. Preference will be given to applicants with demonstrated experience in online and/or in-person teaching as well as progression toward a higher educational degree (e.g. SLPD PhD EdD).
