Job Description

The Mallard Lounge - Outlet Manager

Salary Range: $78000 - $85000 gross annually based on previous experience and education

Job Duties Include:

  • Work closely with the Executive Chef to execute a smooth and flawless operation
  • Ensuring optimal performance by being a consistent presence on the floor to support and lead the team to deliver service excellence.
  • Direct as well as participate in the training and coaching of new and existing team members.
  • Drive revenue and profit through the development and implementation of strategies practices and promotions
  • Drive the restaurant budgeting and forecasting process while adhering to the budgetary guidelines established for the outlet (labor productivity revenue and expenses).
  • Demonstrate and hold the team accountable to the highest standards of internal and external customer service at all times.
  • Manage the beverage inventory ensuring cost controls are in place.
  • Demonstrate a talent-based approach to recruitment including creating evaluating and executing effective recruitment and retention strategies for the department.
  • Foster and maintain high colleague engagement performance and team spirit within the department.
  • Follow up on guest complaints and ensure appropriate internal follow up including implementing training resolutions and effective performance management where applicable.

Qualifications :

  • Minimum of 2 years management experience as a department head in Food & Beverage
  • Demonstrated passion for the Food and Beverage industry and knowledge of current trends
  • Demonstrated ability to drive revenues and profit without sacrificing colleague and customer experiences
  • Proven ability in menu design offerings and effective marketing plans
  • Product knowledge including a thorough working knowledge of wines liqueurs and other beverages.  Sommelier designation is an asset.
  • Thorough working knowledge of financial reporting structures (budgets labor productivity revenue and expenses)
  • Ability to work effectively with the following programs Microsoft Office Suite Open Table Avero Slingshot Opera Micros/Silverware and Revinate
  • Previous experience in a luxury hotel restaurant is an asset
