Job Description
ALL about the role:
- Act as the 2IC for the maintenance department supporting the Chief Engineer in daily operations.
- Supervise and train the maintenance team ensuring compliance with SOPs and WHS regulations.
- Conduct regular site inspections to identify maintenance needs address safety concerns and resolve building defects.
- Oversee and prioritize maintenance requests ensuring timely and effective resolution.
- Develop and implement preventative maintenance programs for equipment and machinery.
- Manage external contractors and schedules to minimise guest disruption.
- Maintain and oversee building systems including plumbing electrical and fire safety.
- Manage departmental budgets to ensure cost efficiency.
- Deliver excellent customer service and maintain a professional demeanour at all times.
- Provide leadership by directing staff performance and ensuring corrective actions when needed.
- Expected to work weekends and public holidays as part of the roles responsibilities.
Qualifications :
ALL about you:
- Minimum 3 years of experience as a Maintenance Handyman or in a similar role.
- Background in hospitality maintenance is preferred.
- Trade qualification or relevant industry experience.
- Strong professional written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work with minimal supervision while ensuring operational efficiency.
