Job Description:
The Inclusion coordinator position at Peck will be primarily responsible for overseeing the success and integration of the five sub separate programs at Peck (ABL Functional Rise SIP Newcomers) and act as a liaison between the administration and program(s) to ensure the stability and growth of all programs and the success of our staff and students.
Roles and Responsibilities
- Works with the Inclusion and SIP team via weekly meetings
- Supports inclusion scheduling and preparation for ABL students with partial inclusion
- Bridges inclusion access & support between general education staff & special education staff for ALL inclusion students on IEPs including students without ASD
- Collects and shares building-based inclusion data per request of building administration. (STAR SIPPs IM ST Math # of placement changes grid b minutes in IEP)
- Participates in the implementation of SSPs & crisis/safety interventions as needed
- Facilitates monthly meetings with general education teachers and ABL teachers who have students joining ELA/Math blocks
- Collaborates and meets with IEP team members regarding possible placement changes from ABL to SIP; attends IEP meetings that involve a change of placement from ABL to SIP and vice versa; Creates transition plan from one program to another once change of placement is approved
- Observes SIP and ABL students in general education settings to make sure the curriculum is differentiated and accommodations/ IEP modifications are in place
- Works with ELA and Math Coaches to provide general education curriculum resources and training to ABL/Functional/RISE/Newcomers teachers
- Provide support to students on IEPs in general education classrooms(Sub-Separate and SIP).
- Assist in developing and implementing behavior intervention plans and positive reinforcement strategies (Sub-Separate and SIP).
- Collaborate with teachers to co-plan co-teach and modify curriculum and instruction while ensuring IEP accommodations and Modifications are implemented (Sub-Separate and SIP).
- Act as a liaison to promote inclusion between special education and general education staff (Sub-Separate and SIP).
- Help develop implement and monitor IEPs for students in inclusion classes (Sub-Separate and SIP).
- Ensure implementation of accommodations and modifications outlined in IEPs by collaborating with Special Education Paraprofessionals- Assigned Shared Paras and 1:1 Paras ( Caseload and Sub-Separate and SIP).
- Support data collection and progress monitoring for instructional decisions and IEP goals/Student Support Plans (Caseload and Sub-Separate and SIP).
- Participate in IEP meetings (Caseload) offering input on student performance and support needs (Students in Sub-Separate and SIP).
- Communicate with families about student progress and support strategies (Caseload and Sub-Separate and SIP).
- Responsible for gathering and analyzing all relevant data points (Teacher Information Forms Baseline Goals and Benchmarks etc) before the IEP meeting to ensure informed decision-making (Caseload and students in Sub-Separate and SIP)
