Childrens Senior Support Worker Residential Childcare

Salary: 31000
Hours: Full-time 40 hours per week (including sleep-in shifts)
Sector: Social Care / Childrens Residential Services

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Children Senior Support Worker to join a supportive team in a childrens residential care home. This is a rewarding opportunity to support vulnerable children and young people in a nurturing stable environment.

As a Senior Support Worker youll take on a key leadership rolementoring junior staff contributing to care planning and ensuring a safe therapeutic setting where children can grow and thrive.

What Were Looking For

  • Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare (or equivalent qualification)
  • Proven experience in a Childrens Residential Support Worker role
  • Solid understanding of safeguarding child protection and Ofsted regulations
  • Familiarity with trauma-informed and therapeutic approaches to care
  • Strong communication leadership and teamwork skills
  • Resilient patient and passionate about making a difference in young peoples lives

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide direct care and emotional support to children and young people in a residential setting.
  • Be a positive role model promoting healthy routines positive behaviour and emotional resilience.
  • Support children with complex needs through structured activities education and daily living tasks.
  • Lead and mentor junior team members ensuring high standards of care.
  • Work closely with external professionals (e.g. social workers schools health services) to implement and review personalised care plans.
  • Ensure safeguarding procedures are always followed and maintain accurate up-to-date records.
