UCPSA On-Call Direct Care Worker/Caregiver Wage: $20.00/hour Hours: Part Time If you are seeking a position where you can combine your passion and purpose for serving others join our team of cool creative colleagues. UCPSA provides home and community-based services for people with disabilities and the elderly. We are hiring for on-call caregiver position(s). We are looking for caregivers that are skilled in personal care lifting and transfers meal prep community outings and companionship. We are hiring to fill the time slot listed below. The person hired for the time slot would be on-call during those specific hours. They would be paid for the entirety of the time slot but would be sent out to work shifts of varying lengths during that time slot. The shifts will be with a wide range of members with a variety of needs. On call shifts often require lifting transferring and even repositioning members. Some members will require specialized training since they utilize assistive devices such a a hoyer lift. The ideal caregiver is comfortable meeting new members in a variety of environments and can adapt to the members needs quickly. An ideal candidate would also be willing to take on a few permanently scheduled shifts with our members (those regularly scheduled shifts are paid at $17/hour) in addition to the on call slot. Job Duties - Here are some of the ways our DCWs support our clients and their unique needs.
- Personal Care (assistance with bathing/toileting/general grooming etc.)
- (must be comfortable providing personal care for all genders and all ages)
- Meal Preparation
- Medication Administration
- Housekeeping (laundry dishes vacuuming cleaning personal spaces etc.)
- General Supervision
- DCWs also can provide respite services to clients that include similar tasks. This allows the primary caregiver (typically a family member) to take a break from their duties while knowing their loved one is cared for in their absence.
- Adhere to a weekly schedule with good attendance and punctuality
- Complete and maintain required certifications and trainings
- Adhere to all agency policies and requirements
Requirements - 18 years of age or older
- Ability to travel independently to and from clients visits
- Willingness to transport clients during shifts as requested
- Ability to obtain a FA/CPR certification
- Ability to obtain Tuberculosis clearance
- Successful fingerprint and DES/CPS/APS clearance
- Ability to work without direct supervision
- Availability during one or more of the above on-call time slots
- At least one year prior experience as a paid caregiver is mandatory
