A leading small animal hospital in Co. Tipperary is seeking an experienced and motivated Veterinary Surgeon to join its dynamic progressive team. Contract Type: Full-time Permanent
Working Hours: 5 days/week 40 hours
Shift Times: 8:30 am 5:30 pm
Weekend Rota: 1 in 5 weekends
On-Call: 1 night per week 1 in 5 weekends
Focus: 100% small animal care
This is a clinically focused position with a strong emphasis on autonomy case continuity and development in areas such as internal medicine routine and advanced surgery and diagnostic workups.
First opinion consultations and diagnostics
Routine surgical procedures (e.g. spays dentals)
Emergency case handling during allocated on-call
Collaboration with colleagues on complex cases
Contributing to a high standard of patient care
Must be registered with the Veterinary Council of Ireland (VCI)
Confident in small animal first opinion consultations and procedures
Comfortable performing standard surgeries such as dog spays
Experience with dental procedures desirable
Friendly professional and team-oriented with a commitment to high standards of care
Salary up to 70000 depending on experience
Relocation support for eligible candidates

This modern and spacious veterinary hospital operates from a main facility with a branch approximately 25 km away. The team includes:
3 experienced Veterinary Surgeons (including a certificate holder in internal medicine)
2 Registered Veterinary Nurses (RVNs)
7 Support staff
Facilities include two to three consult rooms a separate ultrasound room X-ray and dental machines and an in-house blood analysis lab. The hospital handles a diverse caseload including first and second opinions and referral work. It also collaborates with a local charity on neutering programmes.
