The Opportunity:

An exciting opportunity has opened within our Reporting Centre of Excellence (CoE) for a Reporting Accountant Regulatory. In this role you will work to deliver the process and models that support our external regulatory reporting requirements.

This role will involve the delivery of multiple challenging processes across a variety of complex regulatory reporting models. Delivery is to internal Subject Matter Experts who own the technical knowledge and legislative understanding the role of the Reporting Accountant is to operate and improve the process to support the detailed reporting requirements.

This opportunity within the Reporting CoE team is a great entry point into both QBE and the reporting space with a focus on the regulatory reporting requirements.

Your New Role:

• Ongoing delivery of reporting requirements into the regulatory subject matter experts to meet internal and external monthly and ad-hoc reporting timelines

• Drive the continuous improvement development and automation of production for reporting solutions across multiple areas of financial reporting and analytics

• Maintain consistency of processes between business areas and functions to enable effective analysis and comparison where necessary. Ensuring one version of the financial truth across the all reporting requirements

• Ensure that the needs of business clients/users are fully understood and proactively resolve issues and queries in order to facilitate effective reporting

• Build and maintain good working relationships with internal and external stakeholders (including external audit) in order to assist in the delivery and implementation of objectives.

• Support the development and delivery of reporting solutions which are fit for purpose and support user needs and requirements

About you:

In order to thrive in the role as a Reporting Accountant Regulatory here at QBE we would expect you to have working experience in most of the following areas:

• Part Qualified/Qualified Accountant or comparable experience preferably gained within the insurance industry. 3 years of accounting experience

• Strong interpersonal skills to enable effective communication at all levels within the organisation

• Significant experience of working in a complex financial services environment insurance industry experience preferred

• Track record of demonstrable process change and improvement

• Advanced Excel skills including pivot tables and x-lookups; ability to analyse interpret and communicate financial data

• A can-do attitude to driving change in established businesses and an ability to deal with ambiguity during change having the ability to challenge and influence commercial decisions.

• Knowledge of relevant reporting and analytical tools with enthusiasm to embrace new tools

• Experience of Oracle HFM Hyperion PowerBI PowerQuery Alteryx and other automation tools a significant advantage
