Job Title: Information Reporting Specialist
Reporting Relationship: Assistant Director of Technology Financial Aid

Summary of Position: The Information Reporting Specialist is responsible for creating a variety of reports managing and building information queries and databases and overseeing the document-imaging processes. This individual will work closely with the IT department to ensure internal and external financial aid webpages are updated and accurate and will be the point person to submit any technical concerns on behalf of the Financial Aid office. Creating award codes assisting in file retrieval and file submission to institutional state federal and outside entities is a key component of this position
Duties and Responsibilities
- Build and manage reports databases and queries within the Financial Aid Office
- Update/create all financial aid correspondence within internal systems after receiving/confirming information from/with Marion FA leadership
- Manage entire document imaging process (i.e. learn imaging system teach other staff members operation of system scan documents create/update documentation contact person for everything regarding the document imaging system
- Create/update documentation for Information Specialist Processes annually
- Create award codes for scholarships and loans and update award amounts
- Oversee work of support staff as it relates to the Information Specialist position (i.e. Letter processing report creation imaging.)
- Assist Financial Aid Counselors at request of Marion FA leadership
- Complete annual NAIA reporting process
- Complete satisfactory academic progress calculations quarterly
- Work closely with IT to maintain all financial aid related web presence (internal and external)
- Run a variety of daily processing tasks. Send/receive items daily to the Department of Education/ScholarNet
- Assist with packaging setup and testing as requested by the Assistant Director of Technology FA
- Continually understand and gain financial aid processing knowledge as well as state and federal financial aid regulations
- Package financial aid for all student types on the IWU-Marion campus

Education - Bachelors Degree Required or or equivalent work experience
Experience - Minimum of two (2) years in database management information processing or other relevant work
Required Skills - Demonstrated problem solving skills
- Ability to think strategically and perform in the same way
- Strong understanding of Microsoft programs including Excel and Access
- Creativity and a desire to improve processes and research better ways of streamlining processes
- Ability to take initiative and show creativity in problem resolution
- Demonstrated ability to work with minimal supervision and with frequent disruptions
- Ability to set the priorities of the position
- Demonstrate understanding of the importance of accuracy and attention to detail
- Excellent interpersonal organizational and time management skills
- Working knowledge of Ellucians Colleague system preferred
- Some background and knowledge of programming preferred
