What Were Looking For

Baylor University is seeking a Postdoctoral Research Associate (AI and Emerging Teaching Technologies) to support the mission and vision of the University within the Academy for Teaching and Learning (ATL) by playing a key role in fostering Artificial Intelligence (AI) and emerging teaching and learning technology literacy among University Postdoctoral Research Associate will work collaboratively with ATL staff and faculty across disciplines to develop and implement programs workshops and resources that empower educators to understand evaluate and effectively integrate AI tools and concepts into their teaching and research. A particular focus will be on addressing the unique opportunities and challenges presented by AI within the humanities.

A Doctorate Degree is required.A Doctorate Degree in Computer Science or STEM related field and two years of relevant AI experience is preferred.

This position has an anticipated end date of July 1 2028. Pending performance and the availability of funding this position may be extended.

What You Will Do

  • Design develop and deliver workshops training sessions and seminars for faculty on various aspects of AI literacy including foundational concepts ethical considerations practical applications in teaching and research and assessment strategies
  • Create accessible and engaging resources (e.g. guides tutorials online modules) to support faculty in their ongoing learning about AI
  • Collaborate with faculty in the humanities and other disciplines to explore discipline-specific applications of AI and address their unique concerns and interests
  • Work collaboratively with other members of the ATL team on broader teaching and learning initiatives
  • Engage in scholarly activities including presenting at conferences and contributing to publications related to AI literacy in higher education
  • Evaluate the effectiveness of AI literacy initiatives and make recommendations for continuous improvement
  • Conduct needs assessments to understand facultys current levels of AI literacy and their specific learning needs
  • Stay current with the latest developments in AI and educational technology and translate this knowledge into practical guidance for faculty
  • Perform all other duties as assigned to support Baylors mission
  • Ability to comply with university policies
  • Maintain regular and punctual attendance
